With two years in barrels with one of the best red wine years in the last 10, this wine has to be tasted to be appreciated. Great aromatics, velvety tannins & great structure. The 2008 Baco Noir Reserve is deep crimson-purple colour, rich, full flavour, with deep currant, dark ripe berry flavour and a nice hint of vanilla. Berry aroma. Soft, smooth, fruity finish. Will age very well.

Matched with grilled or roast rich red meats especially lamb and ham, game birds, chicken, turkey, vegetables, pizza, tomato based pastas and firm cheeses and dark chocolate.

Also try this Christmas Eve for a real treat with all the rich Christmas baking, fruit cake, chocolate, for a wonderful Christmas memory.

all quoted from the New With the Shores of Erie 2012- Newsletter
Hello everyone! We would like to share the new and exciting things to expect for the 2012 Shores of Erie International Wine Festival. We are very excited to announce that our new merchandise is here and looks great. Our new witty wine t-shirts come in women sizes and have sequined rhinestone quotes across the chest. We also have wine stoppers, wine woozies, wine glasses, other t-shirts, hats and posters available for purchase at the Gordon house. Merchandise will also be sold at the Wine Festival. All merchandise is great for a wine-lovers birthday present or any special occasion.

The Winemakers Dinner is themed to parallel the dishes offered over 200 years ago as we celebrate the Bicentennial year in historic Amherstburg. The Winemakers Dinner will take place Friday, September 7 as well as the fireworks at 10pm.

We will continue to provide shuttle services around Amherstburg to and from the festival as well as a new shuttle for LaSalle patrons beginning at the Zehrs parking lot. Donations will be accepted with proceeds going towards the House of Shalom Youth Centre. The Shores of Erie is also presenting a new health and wellness series such as local cycling tours, yoga, and Tai Chi.

Ticket sales started on June 18th on-line, by phone and at the Gordon house. Tickets were available at CIBC, Scotiabank and Windsor Family Credit Union branches across Windsor and Essex County as of June 25th. Ticket sales have been going great!

The weekend’s entertainment line-up is coming together and we are very excited to announce that Fitz and the Tantrums will be performing Thursday night. They entertain with a unique indie pop sound and are ‘the band to watch’ says Rolling Stone magazine. Thornetta Davis will be treating us again with her smooth and enthusiastic performance on Friday and Philip Whitfield Band will perform Saturday night.
